The Contractor Special Security Officer (CSSO) will oversee the Security Administration function including developing and implementing policies and programs that ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws, and government security regulations and requirements set forth in the contract. You will be responsible for ensuring a high level of compliance with M.C. Dean and our client security programs for the safeguarding of personnel; property; and Information systems on a proactive and reactive basis. Essential responsibilities and activities include but are not limited to:
Providing support for and administering security functions in accordance with Intelligence Community Directives (ICD) and other applicable government security directives associated with SCI and other special security programs in compliance with JAFAN’s, DCID’s, ICD’s and other applicable government security directives associated with SCI and other special security programs.
Establishing and maintaining a working relationship with federal customers and their security office for processing and maintaining employee clearances/accesses.
Preparing written reports of surveys and inspections and maintaining documentation and files in accordance with government requirements.
Preparing Visit Authorization Requests (VARs); completing and submitting necessary clearance paperwork for employees, candidates, and consultants; developing and providing new employee security briefings, exit interviews, and debriefings.
Maintaining SCIF visitor control functions

Clearance Requirements: TS/SCI with Polygraph
Education and Progressive Experience
Master’s Degree and 3 + Years of the following experience or
Bachelor’s Degree and 5 + Years the following experience or
Associates Degree and 8 + Years of the following experience or
High School or GED and 10 + Year the following experience
Required Progressive Experience:
As a Contractor Special Security Officer (CSSO)
Previous experience with DoD, IC, and other USG agencies.
Working knowledge of the NISPOM and ICD’s.
A background in one or more of the security disciplines (Physical, Technical, Personnel, Cyber, Protective, and Operational) and a willingness/desire to gain proficiency in performing in all disciplines.
In depth knowledge of building, accrediting, and managing SCIF/SAPFs across various government agencies (Fixed Facility Checklists, etc.).
Experience writing Standard Operating Procedure Manuals.
Practical knowledge of DMP, Software House and Lenel and Security databases including JPAS, DISS, e-QIP, and ACCS and SIMS or related security management data base software.
CSSO Certification is Required.
PSO and SSO Training and Certification are Desired.
COMSEC Custodian Certification is Preferred.
Required absolute discretion, demonstrated judgement, problem resolution skills, and a background of working in a multidisciplinary team environment.
Strong oral, written, and presentation skills and the ability to relay technical information to others.
Demonstrated time management and organization skills to meet deadlines and quality objectives.
Strong MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint Skills is a plus.
Work and Travel Requirements:
Will be required to work at our Tyson’s, VA HQ location 1-2 times per week
Local Northern Virginia Travel: Approximately 5%
Other Travel: Approximately 5-10%, Depending on Client Requirements
