Energy Engineer

As an Energy Engineer within our Facilities Engineering Operations & Maintenance team, you will play a pivotal role in driving energy efficiency initiatives, reducing operational costs, and supporting our commitment to sustainability. You will collaborate with various stakeholders to identify opportunities for energy conservation, implement energy-efficient technologies, and ensure compliance with energy-related regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

Energy Conservation Strategy:

  • Develop and implement an energy conservation strategy to reduce the organization's energy consumption and environmental impact.

  • Identify and prioritize energy-saving projects and initiatives.

  • Work with the project team and customer to ensure the facility is meeting its LEED goals.

Facility Assessment:

  • Conduct energy audits and assessments of our facilities to identify areas for improvement.

  • Analyze energy data to establish benchmarks and track performance over time.

Energy Efficiency Projects:

  • Manage and oversee the planning, design, and execution of energy efficiency projects, including lighting upgrades, HVAC improvements, and renewable energy installations.

  • Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.

Data Analysis and Reporting:

  • Collect, analyze, and interpret energy consumption data to identify trends and anomalies.

  • Prepare regular reports and dashboards to communicate energy performance and savings to management.

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Stay informed about energy-related regulations and standards.

  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal energy efficiency and sustainability requirements.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and external partners to promote energy conservation awareness and best practices.

  • Provide training and guidance to employees on energy-efficient behaviors.

Requirements & Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree with minimum 0-2 years' experience in Energy Management, Engineering, Sustainability, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).

  • Strong knowledge of energy conservation principles and practices.

  • Familiarity with energy-efficient technologies and renewable energy sources.

  • Proficiency in energy management software and data analysis tools.

  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or similar certifications preferred.

  • US Citizen with ability to obtain a TS-SCI with Poly, preferred active Top Secret Clearance
