This position will be responsible for overseeing the day to day panel shop operations. The ideal candidate will have proven leadership skills and experience with industrial/l Automation control systems and panel fabrication. This is a hands-on position and you will be expected to spend a significant amount of your time on the manufacturing floor.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage control panel technicians.

  • Setup and organize control panel shop for efficient operation

  • Train additional resources as department grows

  • Ensure quality control is being achieved and documented

  • Ensure shop is UL508A compliant

  • Build control panels per UL508A, NFPA 79, and NEC standards

  • Help develop standards and shop procedures with Management

  • Work with project management for control panel builds and production scheduling

  • Work with M.C. Dean's internal Automation group as well as external customers

  • Manage time tracking and scheduling through SmartSheet system

  • Completes daily ORM's

  • Work in a safe manner in compliance with OSHA, manufacturer's instructions and company policy

  • Prepare panels for testing and for shipping

  • Work on multiple projects simultaneously in a manufacturing environment.

  • Ensures that as-built drawings are maintained and updated during the manufacturing process.

  • Maintain NFPA-70E and CPR certificates.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to lead a diverse team of technicians

  • Must be detail oriented and strive for quality workmanship.

  • Knowledge of NFPA 79 and NEC

  • Knowledge ofUL508A

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and other Office programs

  • Ability to read both ELECTRICAL and MECHANICAL schematics and drawings and have a good understanding ofelectrical and electronic symbols.

  • Ability to identify electrical panel components from Bill of materials and schematic symbols

  • Strong problem-solving skills.

  • Strong communication skills.

  • Able to work independently or in team environments with minimal supervision.

  • Able to Multi-Task

  • Able to handle stress and maintain composure in high pressure situations

Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED Required

Experience:

  • 5+ Years' experience in industrial and automation controls panel fabrication. Other equivalent work experience will be considered.
